Meet The Team: CRN TV Interview with Company Co-Founder, Carlos Diaz

Carlos Diaz The Client Focused Advisor

1. What is your name, company, and what do you do?
My name is Carlos, and I’m the owner of Vulcan Business Solutions. What I do is help businesses use technology more effectively, securely, and reliably. We manage IT, cybersecurity, cloud solutions, and technology strategy so our clients can focus on running and growing their businesses instead of worrying about their technology.

2. Who is your ideal client?
My ideal client is a business owner or a leadership team that understands that technology is critical to their operation but doesn’t want to manage it all themselves. They value security, reliability, responsiveness, and having a technology partner who understands their business—not just someone they call when something breaks.

3. How do you find your best clients?
I find my best clients through relationships and referrals. Our strongest relationships usually come from people who already know and trust us, who then introduce us to another business owner who needs help. Networking and being involved in the business community are also very important.

4. How are you helping your ideal clients?
We help our ideal clients by taking technology problems and uncertainty off their plate. We proactively manage their systems, protect their business from cyber threats, support their employees, and help leadership make better technology decisions. The goal is to prevent problems rather than constantly react to them.

5. Share an example of someone that you recently helped.
A good example is a business that came to us frustrated with recurring technology issues and concerned about security. We evaluated their environment, identified the gaps, created a plan, and began addressing the problems systematically. Instead of constantly reacting to IT issues, they now have a technology strategy and a team they know they can call when they need help.

6. What types of results do people usually get from working with you?
The biggest results are reliability, security, productivity, and peace of mind. Employees spend less time fighting technology, leadership has a better understanding of the risks and technology investments, and the business has a trusted partner looking ahead rather than waiting for something to break.

7. Who is in the best position to refer business to you and work with your clients?
People who already advise business owners and have trusted relationships with them are excellent referral partners for us. That includes CPAs, attorneys, insurance professionals, bankers, business consultants, commercial real estate professionals, and other trusted advisors. When they hear a client complaining about IT, cybersecurity, downtime, or poor support, that is usually a great introduction for us.

8. Who do you want to meet that can help you in your business?
I want to meet business owners, executives, and trusted professional advisors who believe in building long-term relationships. I especially enjoy meeting people who are connectors—people who genuinely enjoy helping good businesses and good people find each other.

9. How do I describe you to someone I am introducing you to?
You can say, “Carlos owns Vulcan Business Solutions. He helps businesses take the frustration and risk out of technology. If you have concerns about your IT, cybersecurity, or whether your technology is actually helping your business, you should talk to Carlos.”

10. What are hobbies and passions that you personally have?
I’m passionate about martial arts, health and fitness, personal development, faith, and living by strong values. I enjoy constantly learning and challenging myself, both physically and mentally. I also really enjoy building relationships and helping other people succeed.

11. If you were in a room with 20 ideal potential clients, what would you say to them?
If I were in a room with 20 ideal potential clients, I would say: “You shouldn’t have to become an IT expert to run your business. But you should know whether your technology is secure, whether your data is protected, whether your employees can work effectively, and what happens if something goes wrong. If you’re not completely confident in those answers, I’d love to have a conversation with you.”

12. What are the common mistakes people make before meeting you?
One of the biggest mistakes is treating technology as an expense that only deserves attention when something breaks. Another is assuming that because everything is working today, everything is secure. Businesses sometimes discover their vulnerabilities only after downtime, data loss, a cyberattack, or another serious problem.

13. What are the most common questions that people ask you?
People commonly ask: “Are we secure?” “Are we spending too much on technology?” “Why do we keep having the same IT problems?” “Do we really need all these cybersecurity protections?” and “What would happen if we were hit by ransomware?” Those are all great conversations to have before there is an emergency.

14. What are questions that people do not ask you, but should be asking you?
They should be asking: “What are the biggest technology risks to my business right now?” “If our systems went down tomorrow, how quickly could we recover?” “Who has access to our most important information?” “Are our backups actually recoverable?” and “What technology decisions should we be making today to support where our company will be three years from now?”

15. What is the biggest problem that you can solve for your clients?
The biggest problem we solve is uncertainty. Business owners shouldn’t have to wonder whether their technology is secure, whether their backups work, whether their employees are protected, or who is responsible when something goes wrong. We bring accountability, strategy, security, and confidence to their technology.

16. What are keywords that people use to describe your business and why?
Some of the keywords are IT support, managed IT services, cybersecurity, cloud solutions, technology consulting, business continuity, reliability, and trusted technology partner. Those words describe what we provide, but ultimately our business is about trust and relationships.

17. Why should someone set up a meeting with you?
Someone should meet with me because even one conversation can help uncover risks, opportunities, or questions they may not have considered. I’m not interested in forcing a solution on somebody. I want to understand their business, understand where they want to go, and determine whether we can genuinely help them.

18. What is the best way to contact you or to set up a meeting?
The best way is to contact me directly or through Vulcan Business Solutions. I’m always happy to have a conversation, learn about someone’s business, and see whether there is an opportunity for us to help each other.

19. How do people find out more about you? Where should they look?
They can learn more about me through Vulcan Business Solutions, our online presence, and by connecting with me professionally. But I think the best way to get to know me is simply to have a conversation. Relationships are important to me, and I would much rather get to know someone personally than just exchange business cards.

20. Any final words of inspiration you want to share?
My final words would be: Relationships matter. Integrity matters. And how you treat people matters. Whether we are talking about business, technology, martial arts, or life, I believe in continuously improving yourself, serving others, and doing the right thing even when nobody is watching. Success isn’t only about what you accomplish—it’s also about the people you help along the way.
